Retail chain

Caso de éxito

Integration, centralization, and standardization of energy data for a retail chain

An international supermarket chain with more than 70 subsidiaries in Mexico is digitizing its operational processes to achieve its sustainability goals. Also, centralizing and increasing the stores’ efficiency with modern monitoring, managing energy systems, and using data as a powerful tool to make decisions.

By focusing on continually optimizing water and energy consumption, we developed different strategies to optimize resource use by integrating the data and centralizing the consumption information from various energy providers. We also empowered the teams by giving them information on all their systems at a glance and helping them take corrective and preventive actions to streamline processes and consume resources. As a result of the best practices and optimization, the company obtained economic, operational, and sustainability benefits and reduced its environmental footprint.

CHALLENGE
The challenge lies in integrating data from different systems used to monitor and increase operational efficiency and reduce the store’s consumption of resources. These systems have already optimized processes, but they worked independently from each other, making it challenging to see the aggregated data to make decisions. By continuously analyzing the data, the company identified new areas of opportunity. As a result, parameters of different systems (e.g., refrigeration) were adjusted to achieve greater efficiency. All this through the monitoring and management of systems with IoT sensors to centralize the data and support decision making.

Monitoring and managing systems with IoT sensors for a centralized use of information and decision-making.

S2G ENERGY SOLUTION

Installation of +45 energy sensors and an ultrasonic water IoT sensor to monitor the consumption of resources in real time.

Integration, centralization, and standardization of data from different systems for better use of information.

Strategies to optimize resource consumption with alerts in non-operative hours and rush hours. Gradually equipment ignition to avoid power peaks and continuous equipment ignition.
